Under the direction of the Department Director, coordinates the daily activities associated with food distribution in the cafeteria. Maintains high customer service standards as well as high level of sanitation.

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Understands and demonstrates the proper use of cash register and all cash handling procedures.

  • Maintains clean work environment and follows all HACCP requirements and Sanitation Checklists.

  • Understands the importance of cost control through proper portioning.

  • Interacts with public and serves customers in a professional manner.

  • Represents the department in a positive manner by displaying professionalism and courtesy at all times.

  • Follows position-specific job flow and completes all other assigned tasks.

  • Completes financial paperwork accurately and on time.

  • Accurately tracks meals, floor supplies, sales, etc

  • Maintains employee in-service training attendance records.

  • Accurately tabulates and sets up daily bank deposits with cafeteria daily cash receipts.

  • Produces cafeteria signage and is responsible for replacing signs as needed to maintain a quality appearance.

  • Monitors use and orders all department office supplies.

  • Acts as the front line resource for cafeteria and menu development, for improved customer satisfaction.

  • Fills in on tray line and tray passing when needed.

  • Actively engages in teamwork to help the department run smoothly, assisting others throughout the day.

  • Oversees day to day operation in café for compliance to dept standards and helps wherever needed to insure customer satisfaction.

  • Actively participates in cafeteria meetings and communicates customer comments/complaints to management.

  • Follows all department specific policies and procedures.

Education Requirements

  • Minimum Education High school graduate or equivalent preferred but not required

Licenses/Certifications

  • ServSafe certification preferred but not required to start. Must be obtained within 6 months. (AJH will cover cost associated with this certification.)
